Purdue defeats Nebraska in Big Ten tournament

Anthony Johnson scored a career-high 17 points as Purdue defeated Nebraska 79-61 in an opening round Big Ten tournament game Thursday.

Purdue made 13 three-pointers in the victory. The Boilermakers advance to face Ohio State at about 9 p.m. Friday.

Ryne Smith scored 15 points. He had five three-pointers. Terone Johnson had 16 points. Robbie Hummel and D.J. Byrd scored 10 points.

Bo Spencer led Nebraska with 22 points.
