Cougars fall to Oregon Tech

For the first time in three years, Saint Francis will not be in the championship game of the NAIA Division II men’s basketball tournament.

The Cougars (23-13) were eliminated from the tournament Saturday afternoon, losing to No. 2-ranked Oregon Tech (32-4) 100-67 at the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Mo.

Saint Francis, which won the tournament in 2010 then lost in the 2011 championship game, trailed at the half 52-33 and was unable to catch up. The Cougars were out-rebounded, 42-21.

Ethan Hussey led Saint Francis with 19 points, and Qadr Owens had 14.
