The field narrows

I'm telling you. It's that whole horse thing.

Surely that must behind Peyton Manning narrowing his top landing spots to either Arizona or, uh-huh, Denver.

Colts to Broncos. The two primary colors he's spent his entire college and pro careers playing under -- orange and blue. Makes all kind of sense.

In every other way, though .... well, I guess Denver might be up there because the Broncos play in an easily winnable division, and they've got an up-and-coming defense, and the team president is John Elway, a fellow traveler as a Hall of Fame quarterback. Plus, John Fox proved with Tim Tebow he's willing to adapt to whatever offense fits his QB.

But the main sticking point is how the whole Tebowmania/Peytonmania thing would work out. Would Tebow be willing, after everything that happened last season, to just step aside and be a situational QB only? Would the fan base -- head over heels in love with Tebow -- accept it? Would Peyton be willing to come in as a mentor to Tebow, if that's the plan?

A lot of "ifs" there. So for that reason, I like Arizona better, if I'm Manning.

Of course, I'm not.
