Notre Dame earned a spot in its 17th consecutive NCAA women's tournament Monday.
The Irish (30-3) are the No. 1 seed in the Raleigh Region and will play 16th-seeded Liberty (24-8) Sunday in Purcell Pavilion.
Notre Dame, which is ranked No. 4 in The Associated Press Top 25, is 32-17 in the tournament.
The Irish reached the championship game as a No. 2 seed last year by becoming the first team to defeat Tennessee and Connecticut in the same tournament ever. Notre Dame lost in the title game to Texas A&M 76-70 April 5 in Indianapolis.
