This logo is on the season-ticket renewal letters for the Komets' fans. Team president Michael Franke told me it was just, basically, a cool new logo they had sitting around. But it won't be the team's logo next season. I think it should be. I think it's pretty cool. A modern spaceman.
Anyway, what do you think?
- The Komets will be serving it up for the Vera Bradley Foundation from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m Tuesday at Applebee's on North Clinton, located by Memorial Coliseum. Fans can have dinner at Applebee's with a Komet player serving as waiter for the evening.
- On Wednesday night, there will be an open practice at the Lutheran Health SportsCenter from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Coach Al Sims and selected players will wear wireless microphones and fans can listen in as they dine at the Thirsty Penguin Restaurant with a clear view of the practice on the ice. Players will be available for photos after practice. Practice will conclude with a hardest-shot competition between selected players.
