Foot Traffic

  • Post-race thoughts on Fort4Fitness
The air was cool and a chill traveled up my bare legs as I took that step out the door. A pit was in my stomach, churning. I sauntered to the starting point, giving my GPS watch time to find a satellite.
  • Fort4Fitness: The race recap
"There was a witch, in Williams-Woodland," my husband said. "Don't you remember her?" My reply was a blank stare.
  • In the bag
I have my number - 14182. I have my shirt ... and luggage tag, magnet, pen, requisite goodies. I also have a coupon for a $1 drink at Parkview Field after the race tomorrow. Note to self:

Josh Angel, tattoo artist at Cardinal Tattoo on Spry Run Avenue, graffitis a new "Parking In Rear" sign on the side of their building, which they share with Rise Skateboard Shop, Tuesday afternoon.

Shooting Video

I was out and about running some errands on Tuesday and I drove past the Cardinal Tattoo and RISE Skateboard shops and saw Josh tagging this amazing piece of work on the wall. I told myself that if he was still doing it on my way into work, I was going to do a little video. Funny thing is, I didn't know where to park until I read the sign. Go figure.

The trickiest part of this assignment for me was the audio. I knew that probably half of it wouldn't be usable, with all of the traffic noise. I worked quickly and didn't overshoot, which let me edit faster.

I had the wireless mics in the car, which I should have used, but in hindsight, I'm glad that I didn't. So much of what I do is spontaneous and if I had the wireless on Josh, I wouldn't have picked up Nick's compliment or the other Nick's joke about spelling it right.

It was great to hang with these guys and be able to put their art out there.
