Will Sheehey has shown growth throughout his sophomore season. The forward is averaging 8.4 points and 3.1 rebounds. Last year, he averaged 4.8 points and 2.1 rebounds. He's fought through an ankle injury to be a key contributor this year.
"I've been struggling with some injuries throughout the year, but one thing I've learned to do is persevere through that and try to get back on track," Sheehey said Wednesday.
"Having a better feel for the game and being one year older helps my experience and knowing the ends and outs of a Big Ten game."
Sheehey said three things will be key in Thursday's game against New Mexico State.
"They rebound the ball well, they get to the free-throw line and they get out and run in transition," Sheehey said. "Those are three things we're going to try to limit them from doing. Those are three things they do well."
