Indiana leads at halftime

Indiana leads New Mexico State 35-28 at halftime in an NCAA tournament second-round game Thursday at the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore.

Christian Watford leads the Hoosiers with 10 points. He has made two three-pointers. Cody Zeller has seven points, Will Sheehey has six points.

IU talked about limiting New Mexico State's free throw opportunities heading into the game. The Aggies attempted just two foul shots in the first half. New Mexico State is averaging 29.9 free throw attempts per game.

Hamidu Rahman and Tyrone Watson have six points for the Aggies. Wendell McKines has four points.

IU made four three-pointers. The fourth, by Jordan Hulls, gave IU a 25-15 lead. A Zeller dunk made it 27-15. New Mexico State went on an 8-2 run late to get within 33-28. Watford made a layup for the final points of the half.

New Mexico State has 13 turnovers.
