IU down by 1 at halftime

Virginia Commonwealth leads Indiana 42-41 at halftime of Saturday's third-round South region contest in Portland, Ore.

Christian Watford has 11 points for IU. He scored the final eight points of the half.

Cody Zeller has 10 for the Hoosiers.

The half was played a remarkable pace. The focus coming into the game was VCU's press. The Hoosiers have turned the ball over 10 times, but most of the miscues have come after breaking the Rams initial wave.

Bradford Burgess has 12 points for VCU. He has made three three-pointers. The Rams made five three-pointers in the half.

VCU went on a 9-0 run late in the half to take a 42-33 lead. The stretch included a lengthy video delay, which led officials to award the Rams two free throw attempts and the ball.

Watford got Indiana back in the game with consecutive three-pointers. He then hit two free throws for the final points in the half.

Indiana is shooting 66.7 percent from the floor. VCU is shooting 55.2 percent.
