The Komets have five games remaining to get some momentum for the playoffs. That quest starts tonight against the Laredo Bucks, who beat the Komets 4-3 in overtime Friday night at Memorial Coliseum.
The Komets haven't actually clinched a playoff berth yet. They would do so by getting a point tonight, or if Quad City fails to beat Rio Grande Valley.
I have heard the rumors that the Komets are bringing in defenseman Tyler Miller. I will let you know if it's official. Regardless, I think we can all agree that they waited too long to get another defenseman in here. Even if Dustin Molle hadn't aggravated his groin injury Friday, were they really going to roll into the playoffs with only seven defensemen, at least three of whom are banged up and one in particular who is prone to turnovers?
