Ants look good in first half

These are not the Mad Ants of a few weeks ago.

Being led by NBA players Vernon Macklin and Stephen Graham, the Ants lead Erie 48-36 at halftime in Sunday's D-League game at Memorial Coliseum.

The lead could be even more substantial had the Ants been able to make some free throws. They are 5 of 15 from the line.

Coming into the game on a four-game losing streak, and having lost 14 of their last 15, the Ants looked impressive in the first half against the BayHawks, who have beaten the Ants four consecutive times this season.

Graham, a 6-foot-3 guard with a linebacker's frame, leads the Ants with 13 points, and the 6-foot-10 Macklin has 11 points. Graham played with the New Jersey Nets, and Macklin is property of the Detroit Pistons.
