6 pets rescued from house blaze near Rudisill

Fort Wayne firefighters were called to a house fire early this morning on the city's south side where six pets were saved, according to a Fort Wayne Fire Department report.

Crews were called to 4025 Bowser Ave. at 12:38 a.m. and were on the scene within three minutes. Upon arriving firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the two-story house, then discovered flames in the kitchen that extended into walls on the second floor, the report said.

No one was home at the time of the blaze but multiple dogs and cats were rescued and handed over to Animal Care & Control.
