Peyton Manning rides in the front seat of an SUV as he arrives at the NFL Denver Broncos headquarters on Tuesday.

Breaking the bank

Methinks the Denver Broncos were juuuust a tad over-generous this time around.

Five years? $96 million? For a soon-to-be 36-year-old quarterback coming off four neck surgeries?

Look, I get that it's Peyton Manning and all, but this seems like too much money for too long for a quarterback who's entering the endgame of his career. I suppose if he wins Denver a Super Bowl it'll be worth it, but there's guarantee he's going to do that. In fact, it's a lot more unlikely than likely.

But I'm not going to begrudge the man. Get it while you can, brother.
