Molle back; some lazy play

Komets defenseman Bryant Molle, who left the ice for a spell because of an apparent shoulder injury, is back on the ice.

Many of his teammates look as if they never got to the rink today.

The Komets trail the Quad City Mallards 4-1 after two periods, and they just gave up one of the laziest goals of the season, a short-handed tally to Obi Aduba.

The Komets sure aren't playing like a team one point up in the Turner Conference. Rapid City, which is now one point back and tied with Evansville, could wind up stealing the whole shabang. The Rush has played two more games than Fort Wayne and Evansville, who have been sliding down the stretch.

Justin A. Cohn, pro sports coordinator for The Journal Gazette, has been covering the Fort Wayne Komets since 1997. His reporting includes game stories from home and away, features about the players and personalities associated with the Komets, plus coverage of issues affecting hockey at all levels. A native of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Cohn graduated from Emory University in Atlanta. He can be reached at 260-461-8429 or by email at jcohn@jg.net.
