Mad Ants lose at Canton

The Mad Ants fell to the Canton Charge 106-87 on the road after a tough second half in front of 2,378 fans Wednesday.

Fort Wayne (11-32) was outscored 60-39 in the final two quarters by the Charge (25-18).

Canton outscored the Mad Ants 32-18 in the third and 28-21 in the fourth.

Canton led 29-16 after the first quarter, but the Mad Ants got back into the game with a 33-17 advantage in the second.

Charles Garcia led Fort Wayne with 20 points, while Vernon Macklin had 14, Stephen Graham 12, Cameron Jones 11 and Ron Howard 10.

Macklin added 13 rebounds, while Garcia had nine. The Mad Ants outrebounded the Charge 44-35.

Fort Wayne, which has lost six in a row, is starting a six-game road trip. The Mad Ants will finish out the season April 6-7 with two home games against Dakota.

Canton had five players in double figures, led by Alan Anderson’s 24 points and former Notre Dame standout Luke Harangody’s 20.

The Charge made 42 of 76 (55 percent) from the field, while the Mad Ants made 36 of 78 (46 percent).
