Dottie Porch, a former IPFW volleyball and basketball player and member of the university's Athletics Hall of Fame, has been named head women's volleyball coach at Niagara University, Niagara announced today.
Porch, formerly an assistant at Pittsburgh, George Mason and Indiana, takes over a program that has made three straight NCAA tournament appearances, Niagara said in a statement.
"I am humbled and excited at the chance to continue and contribute to the winning traditions, athletically and academically, here at Niagara," Porch said in the statement.
"She brings a significant amount of recruiting experience, as well as marked success in developing talent," Niagara athletic director Ed McLaughlin said. "We expect her to continue the successes of the program in our pursuit of winning championships and graduating leaders who will be successful in the world."
At IPFW, Porch was a two-time Female Athlete of the Year, three-time All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honoree and two-time all-region honoree, the statement said.
