Mad Ants NBADL

Mad Ants at Idaho

When: 9 p.m. today, Saturday

Where: Boise, Idaho

Records: Mad Ants 11-32, Idaho 17-27

Mad Ants leaders: Ron Howard (18.5 ppg), Vernon Macklin (15.7 rpg), Tory Jackson (3.2 apg)

Idaho leaders: Marcus Banks (16.5 ppg), Mikki Moore (7.6 rpg), David Bailey (5.9 apg)

Key matchup: Vernon Macklin, the Ants’ 6-foot-10 center, will be going against an old, familiar friend to Fort Wayne basketball fans. Mikki Moore, Idaho’s 7-foot center, was once a member of the Fury when Fort Wayne was a member of the CBA. Moore, 36, leads Idaho with 7.6 rebounds per game and averages 11.6 points.

The skinny: It’s a case of the two last-place teams going at it for a pair of games this weekend. The Ants, on a six-game road swing, have the worst record in the league and are two games in last place in the East Conference, and Idaho is in last place in the West Conference. While the Ants are on a six-game losing streak, the Stampede have lost their last two, six of their last seven and nine of their last 12.
