Everyone out here in Sports World pretty much concedes that Roger Goodell was at his Roger the Hammer best when he landed on the New Orleans Saints like a ton of bricks for Bountygate.
But did he really?
I mean, yesterday he said it was perfectly OK for the Saints to bring in Bill Parcells, if both sides are agreeable, to fill in for head coach Sean Payton during Payton's forced year's absence.
Parcells isn't in the Hall of Fame, but he's going to be. So how much of a punishment is it if the Saints can replace Payton for a year with a multiple Super Bowl champion coach and a future HOFer?
Not much of one, it says here.
