Shooter's Comments: Today I went on a feature hunt and I decided that I wanted to shoot something outside because it was sunny and the sky was nice and blue. I drove by St. Jude's Catholic School and noticed the students outside for recess. I went into the school to get permission, of course, before taking photos.
I hung out with a bunch of girls jump-roping which brought back lots of memories. But one memory really stood out - there was a little girl that looked exactly like my childhood best friend that I use to hang out in my neighborhood growing up.
"Is this Lauren's daughter?" I thought. Sure enough, it was. This girl was Ava Panza and it was like going back in time. Funny how your children can look just like you and even act like you. Now, after editing my final selects for this shoot, Ava did make the cut. She is the girl on the left of the photo.
In this photo, I tried to use the jump ropes to frame the girls. I thought it turned out pretty cool.
Well, if Lauren sees this photo, I hope she is doing well. I will never forgotten my childhood days and the Jean Jacket Club we made up which included Lauren, her sisters, and my sister and brother.
