The cherry tree in my yard was covered up to protect from frost Monday night.

Protecting from frost

The frost hit while I was out of town but fortunately my neighbors, who are also gardeners, recognized that the cherry buds were in danger and covered up my tree.

Fortunately, my tree is still small enough to cover and this seems to have protected the buds.

Last year I was able to gather enough cherries for two pies. This year if I get some cherries, one pie will go to my neighbors. We seem to have survived the frost so far but we still have to contend with hungry robins.
