Weigh-in for public challenge

This year’s Fort Wayne’s Smallest Winner contest will offer the public a chance to participate in the weight-loss challenge along with 29 contestants.

The public-division competition begins Friday with an open weigh-in on the Lutheran Hospital campus. Those in the public division will receive some of the same information and advice as the contestants during the 15-week contest and will be encouraged to take part in a nutrition class, public training day and a 10K or certified half-marathon in July, which they can walk or run in one of the events.

Those interested in joining the public division must weigh in between 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday to participate. The weigh-in is at the Lutheran Weight Management Center, at the northeast corner of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne, 7970 W. Jefferson Blvd.

Competition for the 29 contestants and the public begins Monday.
