Hate to say it ...

RAPID CITY, S.D. -- I hate to say it but referee Zak Blazic isn't doing a very good job tonight, and it could cost the Komets.

He has missed two blatant calls -- Stephon Thorne was elbowed and Jamie Lovell hit from behind -- and it's set up the Rapid City Rush for a 2-1 lead.

The Rush got a power-play goal -- it had a 5-on-3 advantage -- from Jesse Schultz in the second period. That goal came seconds after Lovell was blasted from behind, with no call.

Aside from that, it's been a good game. The hitting has intensified. But neither team is capitalizing on scoring chances. Tom Mele missed the net on a short-handed breakaway in that period.
