Mychel Thompson’s three-point play with 6.8 seconds lifted Erie past the visiting Mad Ants 103-102 Friday.
Thompson stole a pass with 9.9 seconds and then scored while getting fouled to tie the game at 102. He then made the free throw to give Erie a one-point lead.
Fort Wayne’s Ramon Harris missed a three-point shot with one second left.
Ron Howard led the Mad Ants (12-34) with 21 points. He also had six assists and five rebounds. Vernon Macklin had 12 points and 12 rebounds for Fort Wayne.
Stephen Graham had 14.points, Anthony Goods scored 12. Harris and Darnell Lazare scored 11 points and Charles Garcia finished with 10 points.
Thompson led Erie (25-21) with 19 points. Joey Graham scored 18 points while Kyle Goldcamp had 15 points and nine rebounds.
The teams meet again today in Erie.
