Thunderstorms reported in region

Thunderstorms have been reported in northeast Indiana.

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana said northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio can expect to see storms this afternoon and evening.

Some might be severe.

At 2:04 p.m., the weather service said Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a line extending from eight miles northwest of Tri-Lakes to South Whitley to eight miles west of South Whitley.

It said these storms were capable of producing half-inch to dime-sized hail and wind gusts up to 40 mph.

Pea-sized hail was reported on the north side of Fort Wayne and in Steuben County, according to the weather service.
