3 hurt in rollover crash hitting pole, post, tree

Two northeast Indiana teens and their adult driver were injured early Friday when their car lost control, hit a utility pole and a cement post, rolled over and then struck a tree.

The Indiana State Police said Trenton A. Gamble, 21, of South Line Street in South Whitley, was driving north on Whitley County Road 900 West about 12:20 a.m. when the 1968 Ford two-door car left the east side of the road in the 45100 block.

Gamble was flown to an area hospital and was later listed in stable condition, the state police said in a written statement.

A 15-year-old in the car had a cut on the head and Perry J. Swartz, 18, of South Whitley, had a jaw injury, state police said. They were treated and released, and each was charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol.

The state police said charges are pending against the driver.
