The Week Ahead

Curtis Smith

Today is April 1, but the entire month of March felt like an April Fool’s Day prank.

It was the warmest March in the history of Fort Wayne, with an average temperature just under 53 degrees.

Twelve days made it to 70 degrees, and on the 21st we hit the single highest March temperature in the history of Fort Wayne, with a high of 87. As warm as March was, seven different nights dropped into the 20s, with one night getting all the way down to 21.

April is often more of a wild ride than March. This year, however, April has its work cut out for it.

Weather wise: Usually, April is capable of delivering snow, but this year it seems unlikely. March only gave us 0.3 inch of snow, and the last time we saw at least one inch in a day was Valentine’s Day.
