So I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs until the tip-off for the NCAA men's championship game, trying to invent a scenario in which Kansas manages to win.
(And not to get off-topic here, or to further beat a deceased horse, but why am I twiddling my thumbs waiting for the tipoff? Really, people? A 9:23 p.m. tip? What, midnight wasn't available? Why don't you just move the game to Japan and tip it at 3 a.m.?)
Anyway .... I've tried, but I can't see Kansas winning. I can see the Jayhawks hanging around, because they're uncommonly good at hanging around. I could even see Thomas Robinson maybe getting Anthony Davis in foul trouble, which might cause Kentucky a few nervous moments.
Unfortunately, I can't see Kansas also getting Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Marquis Teague, Darius Miller, Terrence Jones, Doron Lamb et al in foul trouble, too. Kentucky's just too deep, too talented, too everything for a Kansas team that goes only six deep -- and the sixth man is a former walk-on.
So: Kansas hangs tough, but ultimately goes down, 82-75.
