There's no doubting the Rapid City Rush is the more physical team in the Turner Conference semifinals, a best-of-seven series tied at 1.
But the Komets are the faster team and they believe that's more important.
- I never did believe in the Evansville IceMen, and they got swept by the Missouri Mavericks. Click here to read about that. Should the Komets emerge from their series victorious -- it will go at least through Sunday -- it would set up something interesting. Komets backup goalie Gerry Festa was acquired from Missouri this season for defenseman Tristin Llewellyn, who has a goal, three points and a plus-3 rating in the playoffs. Look at how much better he's done with the Mavericks: Click here.
- As for Evansville, anyone who reads this blog with any regularity knows I'm not a big believer in Todd Robinson. I'm not the only one. What do you think? Not that I think it will ever happen, but would you want him in Fort Wayne? He's a perfect case of numbers being deceiving.
- And what do you think of Missouri getting at least a week off before the next series? The Mavericks get to rest and scout the Fort Wayne vs. Rapid City series, which could have a lot of travel and lot of bumps and bruises. But it can be a slight disadvantage for a team to sit so long and lose its rhythm.
