Registration ends Monday’s survey of the best and worst states for quality of life for women is intended to help female voters make the best choices at the ballot box. Before voting, however, comes registration, with next Monday’s voter registration deadline fast approaching.

Indiana residents with a current driver’s license or ID may register at until midnight Monday.

Allen County residents may register to vote or submit address changes at the voter registration office, 1 W. Superior St., 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Friday. The office is usually closed on Monday but will be open April 9. Free parking is available west of the building. To register, residents must provide a valid driver’s license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number.

Residents must have lived at their current address for 30 days before the election, must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 by Nov. 6.

Voters will choose either Republican or Democratic nominees in the May 8 primary. Voters who live in the East Allen or Fort Wayne Community Schools districts also will be asked to vote yes or no on a building referendum question. Voters who do not want to declare a party preference may request a referendum-only ballot.
