5 charged in prescription drug probe

Kosciusko County officers have arrested one woman and four men on drug charges stemming from a sting operation in Fulton County last week.

Deputies and detectives arrested the men on drug warrants shortly before 7 a.m. today, according to a written statement from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.

It said county detectives arrested Michelle Lee Blankenship, 41, of the 5100 block of West Corly's Lane, Silver Lake, on Friday evening. She was preliminarily charged with dealing a controlled substance and her bond was set at $250,000.

Her arrest followed an operation last week involving the Fulton County and Kosciusko County sheriff's departments and the Indiana State Police.

Kosciusko detectives and Drug Task Force members got information that led to this morning's arrests of the following men on preliminary charges of dealing and possession of a controlled substance:

Travis James Lewis, 18, of Corly's Lane at Silver Lake.

Michael Anthony Lewis, 20, of Corly's Lane at Silver Lake.

Bret Alan Cooper, 18, of County Road 900 West, in the Mentone area.

Dakota Ray Wallace, 22, of Rochester Street in Akron.

Bond was set at $100,000 for each man by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office.

All of the charges were connected to prescription medications, the sheriff's department said. More arrests are expected in both Fulton and Kosciusko counties.
