Goaltender Kevin Beech played a whopping 39 minutes with the Rapid City Rush this season. He played 97 with the Komets, too. And he played 25 games in the Single-A Southern Professional Hockey League.
But he's helped keep the Rush in it tonight, stopping all 12 shots he's faced since replacing Tim Boron in the first period.
The Komets lead the Rush 3-1 and 2-1 in the best-of-seven Turner Conference semifinals.
The Komets' chances definitely weren't as good in that period, and the Rush is hanging around with some physical play. But it has only 17 shots in the game, seven less than the Komets.
