Freeze warning issued for region

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana says freezing temperatures are expected late tonight and early Friday morning in northern Indiana and northwest Ohio.

It issued a freeze warning for the following counties:

Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Whitley, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, Starke, Pulaski, Marshall, Fulton, White, Cass, Miami, Grant, Blackford and Jay.

Ohio – Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Allen.

It said temperatures are expected to fall to near or below freezing for several hours, which could put budded trees and blooming plants in jeopardy.
