Angola scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to get past the 2011 Class A state runner-up Lakewood Park 4-3 in softball Thursday.

Brittany Smith scored three runs and had an RBI for the Hornets.

Erica Zachrich struck out eight, walked two and allowed five hits, while also picking up an ERA.

Hannah Priskom led the Panthers and went 3 for 4 with an RBI.

Lakewood Park scored all of its runs in the second inning, while Angola had two in the first, one in the third and one in the seventh.

NORWELL 16, NORTH SIDE 1: Jonah Patten threw a one-hitter and hit a double for the visiting Knights, who won in six innings.

Norwell scored four runs in the fifth inning and seven in the sixth to put the game away.

GARRETT 4, PRAIRIE HEIGHTS 1: Kylan LaMotte was the winning pitcher for the host Railroaders.

Garrett allowed Prairie Heights only three hits.

NEW HAVEN 10, SOUTH ADAMS 4: Kyle Sovine was 3 for 4 with three runs scored to lead the host Bulldogs.

Scott Ferguson added three RBI and was 2 for 2.

NORTHROP 7, MARION 1: The visiting Bruins won despite committing five errors.

Colin Brockhouse was the winning pitcher as Northrop outhit Marion 11-3.

Boys track

DEKALB 71, GARRETT 51: Chase Snyder won the discus and shot put and Tommy Moriarity won the 400 and high jump to lead the visiting Barons.

For Garrett, Drake Landes won three events, 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and long jump.

WAWASEE 5, TRITON 1: Madi Anderson was 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI for the visiting Warriors. Gabi Routson struck out 14 and allowed three hits.

SOUTH ADAMS 17, WINCHESTER 4: Brianna Nevil went 3 for 5 with four RBI, a home run and two runs scored for the visiting Starfires. Alaina Johnston, Alyssa Bluhm and Lyndsey Chandler all scored three times.

Tennis

NORWELL 5, BLUFFTON 0: Rachel Phillips won at No. 2 singles to lead the visiting Knights.

Phillips beat Bluffton’s Sierra Steffen 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
