Ants close with win

In the show business tradition of leave the fans wanting more, the Mad Ants ended their 2011-12 season with a 99-98 victory over Dakota on Saturday at Memorial Coliseum.

Dakota had the ball for the last shot but couldn't get one off as the horn sounded to give the Ants (14-36) their season-ending win.

Ron Howard had 21 points to lead the team, while Charles Garcia had 18, Cam Jones had 15, Stephen Graham had 14 and Thomas Baudinet had 11.

The Ants struggled from the free-throw line, making 16 of 28, and they were outrebounded 47-39. But Dakota (29-21) hit just 38.4 percent on 33-of-86 shooting from the floor.
