Ohio traffic stop yields pot brownies

Troopers discovered a stash of marijuana-laced brownies during a traffic stop Friday in Van Wert County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Shortly before 10 a.m., troopers pulled over a 1999 Ford F-350 pickup for following too closely, the patrol said.

A passenger was reaching for something in the truck’s center console and would not show his hands when ordered to do so. After he was taken out of the truck, troopers saw what appeared to be a bag of marijuana, the patrol said.

During a search of the truck, about three-quarters of a pound of marijuana-laced brownies were found in a passenger compartment, the patrol said.

The passenger, Anthony Haire, 28, of Thermopolis, Wyo., was charged with felony possession of marijuana. He was in custody Friday at the Van Wert County Jail.
