Blaze extinguished in vacant house

A fire caused moderate damage this morning to a vacant home at 1117 Hugh St., according to a Fort Wayne Fire Department report.

Firefighters were called about 1 a.m. to the two-story home and found flames at the back, the report said. The fire was contained in the back of the house and under control in 9 minutes, the report said.

No injuries were reported. The house had moderate fire damage and minor water and smoke damage, the report said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
