Some things you read, and you just want to say, "Really, people?"
This is one of them.
Of course, then you think twice about it, and instead of shaking your head in disbelief, you start nodding your head in recognition. Well, sure they're standin' behind ol' Bobby Petrino down there in Arkansas. After, he's won 21 football games the last two seasons, in a part of the country where football isn't really religion, but is at times indistinguishable from it.
So it's probably useless to point out to the 200 or so Petrino supporters that they're rallying for a 51-year-old married guy who used their tax dollars at a public university to hire his 25-year-old, um, "friend." And that as football coach, he's supposed to be setting an example, and catting around with a woman young enough to be his daughter is one lousy example to set.
And that if he weren't overseeing Arkansas' piece of an enormously profitable business -- if he were, say, the chair of the English department -- he'd already have been fired for doing what he did.
But he is overseeing that business. And his 21 wins have been hugely profitable for that business. And so, bring on the Bobby rallies.
