Hannah Robbins just keeps throwing strikes for the Woodlan softball team.
Robbins was at it again on Monday, striking out 14 Northrop batters in six innings in an 11-1 win for the Warriors. The Bruins got one run on three hits but it was all Woodlan after the Warriors scored three in their half of the second inning to erase a 1-0 deficit. Woodlan piled on five more runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth.
SNIDER 3, BELLMONT 2, 8 INNINGS: The host Panthers trailed 2-0 after two innings but tied it with a run in the fifth and got the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Jared Harvey twirled a three-hitter for the Panthers.
HOMESTEAD 20, MARION 4: The host Spartans battered Marion with a 15-run second inning to win in five innings. Matt Volz, Nick Denice, Jake Weber and Brandon Soat all had three hits for the Spartans, who cranked out 19 hits.
LAKEWOOD PARK CHRISTIAN 15, HAMILTON 0: Mikeila Boroff hung up a five-inning no-hitter for Lakewood Park, striking out 10. An eight-run third was the big inning for Lakewood Park.
ADAMS CENTRAL 6, BELLMONT 4: A three-run seventh lifted the Flying Jets over host Bellmont. Lindsay McDougall’s two-run single was the key hit in the seventh.
LEO 7, BISHOP DWENGER 0: Jessica Claxton tossed a three-hitter for the visiting Lions, striking out 10. Leo scored four runs in the fourth inning to break it open.
COLUMBIA CITY 10, MARION 0: Cassie Vodde spun a five-inning no-hitter for the host Eagles, striking out 10. Columbia City scored four in the first and added five more in the third to put it away.
HOMESTEAD 15, NORTH SIDE 1: Tori Strelec made short work for North Side, striking out seven in just three innings’ work and not yielding a hit in a five-inning win. The Spartans scored eight in the first to end it early
CARROLL 5, SOUTH SIDE 0: The host Chargers won every match in straight sets. Rachel Sutton, Ashley Hoagland and Catherine Curtis won in singles for Carroll.
