Engine test facility planned for West Lafayette

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — An Illinois company plans to build an engine test facility at the Purdue Research Park in West Lafayette.

The Journal & Courier reports Automotive Robotics Proving Labs of Peoria, Ill., plans to construct a $10 million, 50,000-square-foot that is expected to create 30 new jobs.

The building will be used to test existing and new engine designs made by Caterpillar Inc. at its facility in Lafayette.

Purdue Research Foundation, the state of Indiana, West Lafayette and Tippecanoe County provided incentives totaling about $4.5 million in the form of training grants, land acquisition, sewage development and infrastructure construction for the project.
