Trash Bash set for Indiana 37

FORT WAYNE – Volunteers from Target are scheduled to do cleanup work along Indiana 37 on Saturday morning.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Friday that this is part of the Trash Bash initiative in April, with volunteers strapping on safety vests and picking up trash along state routes and U.S. highways.

The bash is a monthlong kickoff for INDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program.

Saturday’s pickup begins at 9 a.m., with volunteers working in the right-of-way between Interstate 469 and Black Road, INDOT said.

Civic groups, scouts and sports teams are urged to adopt a highway. For details, visit http://www.in.gov/indot/2598.htm or contact the Fort Wayne district toll-free at 866-227-3555.
