Morning fire guts home on Nuttman

A blaze heavily damaged a house near Foster Park on Thursday morning, the Fort Wayne Fire Department said.

About 8 a.m., fire crews were sent to 1215 Nuttman Ave. When they arrived, heavy smoke and flames were coming from a second-floor bedroom.

Fires in the bedroom and attic were extinguished. No one was home at the time. No injuries were reported.

The fire’s cause was not immediately known.
