TinCaps are a run short again

The TinCaps keep coming up one run short.

Fort Wayne suffered its third straight one-run loss, falling to Great Lakes 6-5 Sunday at Dow Diamond in Midland, Mich.

The TinCaps (3-7) have lost four games by one run this season.

Corey Adamson had a home run and two RBI for Fort Wayne. His two-run home run came during a three-run second inning.

The TinCaps scored another run in the third inning on an RBI double by Travis Whitmore. Whitmore is tied for the team lead with six RBI.

Great Lakes came back with one run in the bottom of the third and another in the sixth to get within 4-3.

Devin Shines gave the Loons the lead with a three-run home run off of Colin Rea in the seventh inning.

Fort Wayne starting pitcher Cody Hebner allowed two runs on six hits in five innings. Luis De La Cruz gave up three runs, two earned, on three hits in 1 1/3 innings. He suffered the loss.

The Loons (5-5) collected 11 hits.

Great Lakes reliever Jose Dominguez gave up one run in 4 1/3 innings for the victory. He had four strikeouts.
