Motorcycle crash victim identified

– Authorities have identified a Huntington man who died Friday night after crashing a motorcycle in Waynedale.

Timothy W. Myrice, 42, was taken to Lutheran Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving, the Allen County Coroner’s Office said.

Myrice was the president of Absolute Protection Inc., a Fort Wayne security business, according to the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office.

Myrice’s death was the sixth traffic fatality in Allen County this year.

Fort Wayne police said Myrice was riding east in the 2800 block of Lower Huntington Road, near Elzey Street, when he lost control of the motorcycle, struck a curb and crashed.

Emergency crews were called about 8:20 p.m. Friday. Myrice, who was not wearing a helmet, was unconscious and unresponsive at the scene, police said.

Lower Huntington Road was closed for about two hours while police investigated the crash.
