Irish open football season early

Notre Dame fans will not have to wait long for their first look at the football team this season.

The Irish kick off the season at 9 a.m. Sept. 1 when they play Navy in Dublin, Ireland, CBS announced Monday. CBS is broadcasting the game, which will be played at 2 p.m. Dublin time.

Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson and reporter Tracy Wolfson will handle broadcast duties from Aviva Stadium.
