TinCaps trail after six innings

Dayton leads Fort Wayne 3-1 after six innings Monday at Parkview Field.

The Dragons scored three runs in the fifth inning.

Kyle Waldrop led off the inning with a double. It was the team's first hit. Junior Arias then walked. Nick O'Shea placed a bunt down the first-base line. Fort Wayne first baseman Zach Kometani charged and threw to third, trying to cut down the lead runner. But his throw sailed wide of third baseman Duanel Jones. Waldrop and Arias scored. O'Shea went all the way to third on the error. He then scored when pitcher Frank Garces was called for a balk.
