The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for strong winds until 7 p.m. today for the Indiana counties of Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, DeKalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, LaPorte, LaGrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White and Whitley.

An intense low-pressure system tracking into the northern Great Lakes is producing strong winds across the area. Sustained winds of near 30 mph with gusts of more than 45 mph are expected into the afternoon. winds will be out of the south this morning and become westerly during the afternoon.

High winds can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, and might take down small or weak tree limbs.

A wind advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph and gusts of more than 45 mph are expected. Drivers should use extra caution.
