Drugs stolen in robbery of pharmacy

A man robbed a pharmacy Sunday morning in north Fort Wayne and got away with an undisclosed amount of prescription drugs, a city police spokesman said.

Officer Jason Anthony said the man entered the Walgreens at East Dupont and Coldwater roads about 10:30 a.m. and approached the pharmacy counter. The man gave a handwritten note to the clerk, saying he had a gun. “He had a list of prescription narcotics that he was requesting,” Anthony said.

No gun was displayed and no one was injured during the holdup. A police dog indicated the robber may have fled north on foot to a vehicle waiting in a nearby lot.

Anthony said the robber was described as a white man in his early 20s with a “very thin” build, pockmarks on his face and a “shadow of a mustache.” He stood between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall. He was wearing an olive, military-style jacket.
