U.S. Chamber supports Lugar

The campaign of Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., announced Tuesday that it has been endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

In a statement, Rob Engstrom, vice president of the Chamber, praised Lugar’s “proven record and ability to get things done in support of Indiana job creation and economic growth.”

Lugar seeks his seventh term in the Senate. He is being challenged in the May 8 Republican primary election by state Treasurer Richard Mourdock.

Lugar received the endorsement of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce last week.
