  • Looks almost official
Center Thomas Frazee posted on his twitter account he will play for the Komets this season.
  • Next great local hockey star?
Karch Bachman is on track to a professional career in hockey. Possibly one in the NHL. It'll be fun to follow his development.
  • A possible new Komet
No official word yet, but I'm hearing that the Komets may be completing a deal with Thomas Frazee, who had 24 goals and 47 points in 60 games last season with Quad City of the CHL.

Listen up people

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- Wow, the Independence Events Center is one awesome arena. There isn't a bad seat in the house. Everything is close. It's a bit like U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Ill., but nicer. If they were to build L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon, Mich., again today, it would end up looking like this I'd bet.

And I'm a sucker for having a band outside playing when you walk into the building.

Thanks to Greg Rajan for having me on his podcast -- click here -- and you can listen to us talk at length about the Komets' series with the Missouri Mavericks.

The Mavericks lead 2-0 in the best-of-seven Turner Conference finals, heading into tonight's game.
