Kinda knew this was coming down the pike, after reading Blackhawks' coach Joel Quenneville's postgame comments the other night.
Not that he wasn't dead right, of course. The officiating in that game was a disgrace. No other word suffices when every guy on the ice with a whistle manages to miss something as blatant as Raffi Torres' gangland hit on Marian Hossa.
But, as we all know, you can't speak the truth about officiating in pro sports without consequences. You should be able to, especially when it's this egregious. Protecting lousy officiating from criticism, after all, only perpetuates lousy officiating.
And who besides the officials themselves are interested in that?
